The movies I will list are extremely
important to me. These films have inspired me, motivated, educated and
entertaining. I hope you see them and have the same feelings as me when I saw
them for the first time and even today. Each of these movies changed my life
and I hope they do the same for you after you see them. I will describe what
each movie meant to me and how it changed my life.
The Lion King:
The Lion King is an animated Disney
musical film, released on June 15, 1994. I was ten years old when this movie
was released and it remains my favorite animated film of all time. This was a
perfect movie. Well armed with good music, comedy and perfect voices for the
characters in the movie. Lion King is the third highest grossing film in the
Disney animation studios behind Frozen and Zootopia. Great movie to watch with
your whole family and enjoy this amazing movie.
Kids is an independent film, released
on July 28, 1995. This film was remarkable and amazing. The film focuses on
sexually active teenagers in New York City. He follows them to show his
car-free behavior with drugs, alcohol and sex at the height of the AIDS
epidemic of the mid-90s. This film was RAW and direct. It was a special long
after school, but raw and uncut. My friends and I watched this movie and learned
that, regardless of location or race, we all have problems and battles to face.
This movie was received with mixed reviews.
Rocky is a dramatic sports movie,
released on December 3, 1976. It was very inspiring for me. It was the story of
poverty to the wealth of an American Italian without education but with a good
heart. Rocky shows you that you have the power to achieve anything in life that
you set out to achieve in this life. It was the American dream in every way.
Show that hard work is worth it. The true story of how the movie came about is
even better. Rocky was played by Sylvester Stallone and was at his lowest point
in life. He was in ruin, and just sold a dog in front of a liquor store in his
neighborhood. This film was made with a budget of just over a million dollars
and raised 225 million at the box office. It was his story of rags to riches in
real life. This movie has generated 6 sequels but, of course, begins with the
Braveheart is a war movie about a
13th-century Scottish warrior who directed the Scots in Scotland’s first war of
independence, released on May 24, 1995. The film was nominated for 10 academy
awards and won 5. This movie was INCREDIBLE and it’s still amazing. Mel Gibson
is amazing in this movie. It is full of action and the story told is also
great. This movie will make you want to defend something and fight for it.
William Wallace is the character played by Mel Gibson and wanted the freedom of
his country after the love of his life was killed by English soldiers.
Shawshank Redemption is a drama about
Andy Dufresne, a banker sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shawshank State
Penitentiary for the murder of his wife and lover, despite his claims of
innocence. This is my favorite movie of all time. The movie premiered on
September 23, 1994. This must be the most inspiring and motivating movie I’ve
seen in my life. A man with all odds against him, never gave up or compromised
his character while in prison. This movie shows that when there is a will there
is a way and nothing can stop the momentum and determination. This movie is a
must see and my favorite movie ever created.
Selena is a biographical musical drama
released on March 21, 1997. Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was born in Texas. Selena
was a well-known Mexican-American record artist in the United States and
Mexico. She was killed by the president of her fan club at the young age of 23.
This movie meant a lot to me. It was the education of a woman who was likely to
change the world with her talents. He also introduced many people to Hispanic
culture through his music. His talent and impact were excellent in such a short
time. This movie will also educate, inspire and entertain you. His greatness
must be celebrated and exhibited throughout the world.
Titanic is an American romance and
disaster film released on December 19, 1997. It is a fictional account of the
impact of RMS Titanic. My initial point to see this movie was because of its
historical relevance. It was not entirely about the history of the Titanic. It
was about love. Love of two people from two different social classes. This was
evidence that love can be found wherever you choose to open your eyes. This
movie showed me how love can be powerful and a driving force. This movie will
show you how love should be and your face is unconditional.
Kids In The Neighborhood:
Boyz N The Hood is a drama for
teenagers, released on July 12, 1991. This film gives an idea of the life of
the African-American ghetto. It is given in two different examples, but both
from single-parent households. One is a single male father played by Laurence
Fishburne and the other is from a single mother. Both parents are raising
teenagers in a neighborhood in south-central Los Angeles, California. This film
was very relatable for me, but educational for most of those who had no idea
what life can be like for minority teenagers in ghetto communities.
Malcolm X is a dramatic biographical
film about the African-American activist Malcolm X, released on November 18,
1992. This film was my first education I received about Malcolm X. I knew about
him, but I was not educated about his movement and what he represented for
himself and black Americans This film educated him about the civil rights
movement from his perspective and his early years. It had a great impact on
culture then and still has it today. You will learn a lot about the struggle of
American blacks to become a person in the United States.
Return To The Future:
Back to the Future is a science
fiction adventure comedy movie, released on July 3, 1985. This movie is just
laughs and fun. I loved this movie that is a trilogy. The movie poster shown is
from the original movie released in 1985. This movie brought you the coolest
car of all time, which was a time travel by DeLorean, amazing Nike shoes and
predicted a lot of what That has now come true. This is something you should
see if you have not seen it yet.
